Dunkin’ Brands CEO Nigel Travis officially announced this Monday that the company plans to launch a new loyalty program later this January. Members will earn 5 points for every dollar spent. Once a member reaches 200 points they receive a medium-size beverage.
According to The Wall Street Journal DD article (found here), competitors like Startbucks and Panera Bread have already reported significant sales boosts from their own programs.
CNBC.com reported Courtney Reagan stated that there are “other loyalty programs out there, but [as] a franchise system, [they] had to get all the infrastructure in place.”
“We got the same point-of-sale equipment so we could build loyalty on top,” Reagan stated.
