Baked and Wired coffee shop and bakery has been serving their unique and absolutely delicious goods to the greater D.C. area for the past seven years. Located in Georgetown, they serve a variety of treats from cupcakes, biscotti, pies, cakecups, and biscuits (just to name a few), and we can’t forget about their one-of-a-kind granola. Aside from their desserts, Baked and Wired also has a large selection of espressos and teas to choose from to go perfect with your sweet tooth cravings.
Once inside, it is difficult to ignore the beautifully intricate details around the shop, from their marble countertops to the toppings on their cupcakes. Cake and cupcake stands are lined with their beautiful treats, alongside chocolate and cookie canisters. Not to mention, Baked and Wired also has a treat ready for our barking friends too, serving Zillabones AKA their hand-rolled dog treats. You can’t go wrong with a classic cupcake here, as most the locals would agree it is one of the best around. However, it isn’t just the locals talking about Baked and Wired. Fodor’s Travel and The Hopper both included the shop in their lists of the Top 10 Best Bakeries in the US.
On their website, you can find their “Market” and “Order” sections, where customers can place custom dessert orders, or purchase some granola or trail mix online. Their “Happenings” link which tells you about special events taking place in the months ahead.
Although Georgetown is the only location currently, local DC-ers should get excited as Baked and Wired has announced their second location to be opening soon. The shop will be in the Mt. Vernon Triangle on K St., and is looking to open in early 2015.
