Chipotle Credit Card Hack

Hacked earlier in the year, Chipotle have announced that they have identified the malware responsible for the breach of credit card information. It comes as no surprise to Sintel Systems that weaknesses in the POS were at least partially responsible.
“The malware searched for track data (which sometimes has cardholder name in addition to card number, expiration date, and internal verification code) read from the magnetic stripe of a payment card as it was being routed through the POS device.”
